The exponential random graph model (ERGM) is a powerful and popular way of conducting statistical inference on network data. This workshop discusses the scope of relational data in the social sciences, the shortcomings of regression-based approaches to inference on networks, introduces the ERGM, and discusses several of its recent extensions.
Attached is a syllabus for a graduate-level course on network analysis. Assigned readings mostly address applications from different subfields within political science, but also draw on works in sociology, communication, and organizational studies.
